Our Biotechnology Program focuses on fermentation technology with emphasis on several aspects of the brewing industry. It’s the first of its kind among the LA County community colleges. Offering specialized training in brewing, sensory analysis, quality control & quality assurance, and yeast production.
Here, you’ll learn the art and science of fermentation, mastering the natural processes that create products people love and enjoy. Our graduates are not only work-ready – they’re innovative, resourceful, and equipped with the skills demanded by this rapidly growing industry. At Rio Hondo, you’ll study alongside industry professionals, preparing for a career in biotechnology or to transfer to a four-year university.
