About STEAM Festival

The Rio Hondo College Math, Science and Engineering Division invites you to the second annual RHC STEAM Festival!


This is a free family event open to the public. Come enjoy interactive science activities, arts activities, and games for elementary, middle and high school students led by Rio Hondo College Students, Faculty and Community Partners. Experience hands-on experiments and activities in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biology, Arts demonstrations and more!


Entrance is free! Parking is free! There will be gifts and prizes*!

Where is the event?

The event is located at Rio Hondo College - Main Campus. Please view the map above to see event location and parking locations.

Will food be given to participants?

No, food will not be provided by the college this year.

How do you earn a price/gift?

All visiting kids (limited to 1 per kid) will get a prize (based on availability) who will complete certain number of activities and get stamps.

There will be a raffle announcement. There is no charge for raffle tickets. One raffle will be handed out per kid at the registration booth.

What majors are STEAM?

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math field of study encompass a wide array of majors and careers.

What kind of activities will there be for middle and high school students?

Some of the activities that will interest middle and high school students are solar telescope, drone application, creating animation, music instruments, luminol, gyroscopes/angular momentum, magnets, bacterial growth, learning about food chain, exploding gummy bear, different color flames, coke fountains, robotics, coding, simple electrical circuits, and others.

Note: some activities might change due to weather conditions and availability of resources.

Can infants come?

The activities are designed for K-12 students. You must look after your kids safety and their needs.
